Luxe Hair By Kimani

I was never really sold on the whole "virgin hair" craze, but after purchasing this Brazilian curly hair I am sold! From Instagram to Twitter to Facebook, etc...it seems like there are so many people selling "virgin" hair. Its really hard to deceiver through whats virgin and whats not, however after a recommendation from a friend of mine who swore by Luxe Hair By Kimani I can say that I am very please with my purchase so far.

I ordered the hair from Kimani on a Tuesday morning, by Wednesday afternoon she sent me an email with my USPS tracking number and advised me that my hair would be delivered by Friday. Kimani also made sure to email me with instructions on how to maintain my new hair, along with a list of products that she recommends work great on virgin hair.

Once I received the hair I sealed the wefts with fabric fray spray, then I proceeded to co-wash the hair. After co-washing the hair, the curls bounced right back once it was dry. I have had my install for two weeks and I have worn the hair in so many different ways already. These pictures were taken after I washed it, this is the hairs natural curl pattern. I chose this hair because of how low maintenance it is, I don't have to worry about straightening it or curling it everyday and it still looks beautiful.

The hair has minimal shedding, I am guessing this is because I sealed the wefts before the install. I am wearing 3 bundles, 18inch, 16inch, 16inch. As you can see the hair looks full and very lustrous.

I will make sure to give you guys an update once I've worn the hair for a longer time, but as for right now no complaints!

Pour It Up

Throw it up, throw it up, watch it all fall out, pour it up, pour it up, that's how we ball out... This song has been stuck in my head alllll day long thanks to my friend Tanny. We celebrated her 25th birthday on Saturday and had a blast!

The evening started with us girls all getting dolled up, then going to dinner, after dinner we enjoyed so some drinks and great music. Since I rarely go out I thoroughly enjoyed myself, good company, great food, and fun music, what more could a girl want!

Vegetarian Lasagna looked delish!

Product Review: Cover Girl Queen Foundation

So I always have an excuse of why I haven't been blogging consistently....well this time my excuse is lack of motivation. Between work life and home I am a busy bee always buzzing around, I just wish there were more hours in my day to get dolled up, take pictures, and blog!

I was in Target the other day picking up some groceries for the week when I glanced over at the makeup section and saw an end cap display with the Cover Girl Queen foundations on it. First off, I was surprised becasue I have always heard of the Queen collection but unfortunately there are not too many women of color in the area I reside in. Since I have heard nothing but great reviews on the products I decided to give it a try, I am in love with this stuff!

The foundation promises "all day flawlessness", and trust me that is not a lie. I wore this foundation through out the day and the evening, and my skin still looked fabulous huntttty! The foundation comes with SPF20, which extremely important since the weather is warmer and the sun is out. My color in this foundation is Q850.

Cover Girl Queen foundation is A+ approved by Glow- Artistry!

Wash n Go

Happy Sunday dolls!

I received some emails from some of you ladies inquiring about how I achieve my curl pattern and what my hair regime is. First of all, I feel so flattered because I am by far a hair expert, neither did I think my "baby fro" was blog worthy *blushes* lol.

Step 1

I wash my hair with As I Am CoWash, I comb out all the knots while the conditioner is in my hair (I only use shampoo once a month, apparently it strips hair of natural oils and that's why I prefer to co-wash) Then I apply Garnier Fructis Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment for moisture.

Step 2
While hair is dripping wet (do not towel dry as this creates frizz) I apply Kinky-Curly Curling Custard. I work the product in by applying it from root to tip, use sparingly as too much will leave a residue.

Step 3
With a wide toothed comb, comb hair out. Now let hair air dry and VOILA!

NOTE*** Hair takes hours to dry, I'm not sure if its just my hair or the product. I usually do my hair the night before to prevent going to work with wet hair. Don't fret if hair has a reside while it is wet, it will clear once dry. This Wash n Go creates tons of shrinkage!!!! Don't be alarmed when you hair isn't as long it was in the shower..lol

To refresh curls in the morning I run my hands through my head with a little water, I also apply Lavish Curls Moisturizer to awaken the curl pattern back up. For added moisture I use Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Reconstructive about 3 times a week.

FAQ

How long does your Wash n Go last?
I do my Wash n Go once a week

I have kinky hair, will a curl pattern form?
I have type 4C hair, so if a curl pattern will form on my hair then I'm sure you can achieve on too. However, everybody's hair is different, so what might work for me may not work for you.

How long have you been natural?
Not longer than 6 months, this is actually my second time going natural. This time its for good!

Hope I answered all the questions you ladies had.

Painted Purple

I would start by saying Happy New Year, but does it even count since we almost in February??? *hides in shame* I really need to improve on my consistency and post more often.

My FOTD was one of my favorite colors, purple. I had a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Painted Purple that I had never tried out, and today I was in the mood to wear something so vibrant! I used the Color Tattoo as my base, packed on MAC Viz-A-Violet Pigment on my eyelid, then topped it off with MAC Grape Crushed pigment in my outer corner.

Club

MAC eyeshadow Club has to be one of my favorite shadows ever, it is holographic and changes color depending on the angle you look at it from. It goes from looking brown, to grey, then green, and a hint of purple too. The shadow does provide a nice shimmer to it, so be careful not to over apply! Also, since it has so many dimensions of color keep it simple, I went with a transition color of Espresso in my crease and broke the monotony by adding Aquadisiac in my inner tear duct.
